Blanche Vivier

Blanche Vivier has led the kitchen at CanD’s Kitchen for more than 11 years, bringing decades of experience, skill, and passion to every dish she creates.

Her culinary journey began at the remarkable age of 13, when she started an apprenticeship at Klippe Rivier in Swellendam. While still attending high school, Blanche immersed herself in the world of food and hospitality, building a strong foundation that would shape her career.

After completing her schooling, Blanche expanded her experience internationally. She worked as a chef and in silver service at the British Council in London, where she refined her culinary and service skills in a prestigious environment.

Blanche then completed her formal training at Warwick Chef School, graduating as the top student in her class. She continued her practical training at Birkenhead House, one of South Africa’s most celebrated luxury hotels, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience.

At the heart of Blanche’s cooking philosophy is a simple idea: use fresh, high-quality ingredients to transform humble food into something truly special. Her dishes combine comfort, creativity, and attention to detail, resulting in memorable meals that delight guests time and time again.

In addition to leading the CanD’s Kitchen team, Blanche is available for private chef engagements by prior arrangement. She works closely with each client to design a personalised menu tailored to their tastes, dietary preferences, and the unique requirements of their event. Whether preparing an intimate dinner or a special celebration, Blanche creates exceptional food experiences with warmth and professionalism.
